London - Cropredy (Oxfordshire), Thursday, 6th October

Up and out of the hotel early this morning (and finding out the receptionist grew up in Daylesford!) to pick up Tobe's dad, Rog, in South Mimms on the N25 London Circular, and then on to Lu & Spider's in Cropredy for the weekend.  Beautiful drive through Oxfordshire - lots of thatched rooves and Cropredy is really pretty little village on a canal, with lots of canal boats.

A lovely late lunch, and I think Clouds must be in the middle of a growth spurt - I've never her eat so much in my life!  Then the girls (very excited) went into Lu's hair salon, for their much-awaited haircuts.  Lots of discussion and magazine reference. Pops went first, emerging about an hour later looking like a brunette version of Shirley Temple.  Then Clouds, who came out looking another 3 years older!

Lu's daughter Millie (whom we met in Melbourne about 18 months ago), arrived and the girls rifled through two huge bags of clothes she no longer wanted - Ava finding a leopard skin print coat, and Clouds a fantastic navy Mambo coat.  Millie's boyfriend, Lindon, arrived and they took the girls, in their new coats, for a spin in Millie's new Mini convertible down the road to Banbury Cross (to see a fine lady upon a white horse....)

Lu's son Marcus, who plays in several bands locally (as drummer, singer and guitarist), was also home with his friend Clem, getting ready for a gig tonight in Banbury Cross, which we all went off to see at around 9:00pm, with the girls set up for a movie night at home with Lu's cat (Wobbygong) and dog (Eddie), and with Rog babysitting.  Very late night.  Lazy day tomorrow.
