Torino - Tuesday, 13 Sept

Lovely lazy morning and then a trip into the city for a bit of site-seeing with Giorgio as our tour guide. Torino is very pretty.  We walked for hours and then up Il Mole, which (given I've now conquered the Eiffel Tower) was a breeze!  Great views, and then we met up with Daniela and the boys for a bite of lunch in town.  It's very hot.  We then made a decision not to go to the Egyptian Exhibition that everyone has been raving about (maybe tomorrow morning) and opted for a swim at a fantastic swimming complex.  The children all had a ball, and there were lots of giggles about the state of some of the 'oldies' and what they were wearing.

Then home and straight out again for dinner in the hills, with friends of Giorgio's and Daniella's as well as two friends of mine, Carlo (who I have known for 20 years) and his wife Monica, who both came to Melbourne for their honeymoon and stayed with Rog and I in South Melbourne.  They've since had two children, Andrea and Valeria (who was an Italian, theatrical version of Ava - needless to say they got on like a house on fire inspite of language barriers!)  Dinner was lots of fun, there were 10 children and they all had a ball, singing, dancing and playing chasey in the park beside the restaurant.   I'm holding Carlo and Monica to Christmas in Australia 2012.  A really lovely day - again!
